Until recently Anj fulfilled the role of diabetic lead in a 10 000 patient training practice in the UK which during her stewardship had and maintained a rating of “excellent” for diabetes and chronic disease management.  During this time Anj she also immersed herself in supervising and training junior doctors in family practice.

Her passion for public service and healthcare equality led to her working at the Ministry of Health Trinidad and Tobago in the area of childhood obesity prevention where she advised on curriculum development for Health and Family Life Education with the Ministry of Education Trinidad and Tobago, conducted multiple research and health education projects as well as developed materials for research, health communication and health promotion in schools. Dr. Sharma has also presented on non-communicable diseases in a variety of settings, including for CARPHA, UWI and in various international symposia on behalf of Trinidad and Tobago.

Following her tenure at the Ministry of Health Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Sharma started work and continues to work closely with Professor Teelucksingh in the management of patients with complex medical and endocrine conditions.

Throughout her career Dr. Sharma has been active in outreach and volunteer work both in the UK and in Trinidad and Tobago, with particular emphasis on child and family health in various communities without mainstream access to healthcare.  She is particularly proud of her extensive role in health promotion at schools throughout the length and breadth of Trinidad.

Dr. Sharma is a highly skilled physician and is a warm and empathic practitioner with a genuine approach to managing her patients in a personal, comprehensive and continuous manner so as to address their health and wellbeing needs.

In addition to this skill set, Dr Sharma has been trained in Aesthetic medicine with a particular interest in minimally invasive and injectable therapies.  She also benefits from having UK trained and based consultant surgeons for discussion and management of patients where more involved procedures are likely to be required and has a sound knowledge of the possibilities regarding optimization of facial cosmesis.
